Farm animals

Our renowned Chianina cattle, typical of Tuscany, are an integral part of our organic farming system since they eat forage and legumes and at the same time produce a valuable organic fertiliser.

LaSelva also breeds Appenninica sheep, which graze on recently harvested lands or on large fields used as grazing land. Since this is not a milk-producing breed, there is less interest towards these sheep. We rear them, therefore, to promote the maintenance and survival of this breed.
